“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” – The Lord Jesus Christ (John 12:32)
My name is Joseph Souder! My goal in life is to love well. I want to love my God, my family, and my friends, inside or outside of the Church. I want to rep the Lord Jesus Christ. I want to lift Him up – by being surrendered to the Holy Spirit that He would live out His supernatural “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, (and) temperance” through me! (Galatians 5:22-23).
I am a self-employed piano mover, Shar is a piano tuner, I preach and we both sing.
Our focus is on the Gospel and the unity of the Church. I don’t blame sinners for America’s current condition, I blame us, the apathetic, fat and happy, comfortably Americanized, church. While other Christians around the world are dying for their faith, we are arguing and separating over music, clothes, secondary doctrine, and denominational lines. The only Gospel the world hears from many in America is political activism. The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, the greatest story ever told, and we’re busy telling people about everything else.
I believe, that anything, that keeps us from sharing the Gospel and that keeps the Church unnecessarily divided from fulfilling the Great Commission, is an idol. He is the only One we should be lifting up! We don’t lift Him up by focusing people on everything but Him.
That the Cross, the Gospel, be pre-eminent. I have preached in Non-Denomination, Assembly of God, United Methodist, Southern Baptist, Independent Baptist, Brethren, and American Baptist churches. We won’t be preaching anything the Bible doesn’t say itself (we won’t be adding to His Word). I have no “axes to grind” and my goal is the unity of the Church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I preach the Gospel! I preach the victorious Christian life. We preach the Bible. The only “sin” I preach against is sin that is outlined in the Bible. We don’t add or subtract from what the Bible says. We don’t preach what isn’t in the Bible and we do not elevate the sin of man over the redemptive power of Jesus Christ. We desire to inspire to be like Christ, not to encourage a “who’s more sinful than who” comparison. We believe Victory is found in the power of the Spirit, not in self-reformation.
